Happy Birthday to...

Bella!

On Saturday, Little Miss Attitude turned 5 years old! You bring such joy and spunk into our lives! We can't imagine what life would be like without you! Here are some of my favorite pictures...

The day I brought you home. You were so tiny, weighing under 2 lbs!

Your first bath..

Being small enough to fit in Andrew's pocket...

And how you love your snuggle ball!

20 weeks (and a few days): the halfway point

It is really hard to believe that we are halfway there! Bishop is the size of a large banana and will be here before we know it! It's getting very exciting around here, as we start to plan and pick things out for his nursery! I feel him move all the time now, and I just love it! I keep trying to get Andrew to catch one of the bigger kicks - or punches or whatever it is - but it hasn't happened quite yet! My energy level is definitely up, and I am loving the 2nd trimester so far. Yesterday I was treated to a prenatal massage, and let me say, that I can't wait to use the next gift certificate! I've been having problems with my sciatic nerve, and it really helped relieve the pain.

We go back to the doctor on Thursday for another check-up and our anatomy sonogram. They will examine every inch of him by sonogram, and we are prayerful for a positive report. We will also get some new pictures of him, which is such a treat!

You can tell from the picture that Bella and Sully have no idea how their lives will change in 5 short months! They would not stop whining at my feet, so we had them join the picture!

what's in a name?

A name. Giving someone a name, something that they will have for the rest of their life, is a big deal! Even before Andrew and I knew we were expecting, we'd tossed around names that we liked and didn't like. We both wanted to have something unique, but solid. I never thought that we would come our decision so early, but we have and are ready to share!

Family names have always been something that I have loved. There is so much rich history in a family name. I was thrilled to find out that Andrew enjoys family names as well. His dad is very passionate about family history, and I love getting to hear stories and see all of the discoveries he has made over his years of researching. During each one, I would pay very close attention, taking in each name and person he would tell me about. The Snyder-Seebon family tree is full of some wonderful names, but one name struck me immediately - Andrew's great-grandfather, Walter Bishop Snyder.

My grandfather was Robert Henry Darville. Paw-paw was a brave, hard working man. He was a provider. He loved golf, and he loved giving Granny, Mom, and Aunt Janis beautiful jewelry! I miss getting to see them open their tiny boxes every Christmas, and the way his face would light up as he saw their excitement. He would never say a lot, but you knew by his actions that he would do anything for his family. Paw-paw went to be with Jesus in 2003, and unfortunately, he and Andrew never got to meet, but I know Paw-paw would have loved him.

Bishop Henry Snyder
, we can't wait to meet you.

17 Weeks

Today is our 17 week mark! The most exciting thing about week 17, is that now we know what we are having! We had our ultrasound on Thursday, and little Baby Snyder was nice and cooperative! In June 2009, we will welcome a Baby Boy into our family! We are thrilled! We have also decided on his name, but that will be a later post! The pictures from the big day are below.

"moving" along: 16 weeks

We are at week 16, and we have movement!! I felt my first flutters on New Years Day, followed by a couple of thumps! I've felt quite a few from then until now, and I have to say, I'm thrilled! Most of the time, it just feels like little pops in my belly!

This week the baby is the size of an avocado - yum! Its eyes are settling into their permanent position, and its body is beginning to look a little more proportioned.
We're counting down the days until our ultrasound! We're pretty set on our boy name, but we're having trouble deciding on a girl, so we're just going to wait and see what the little baby is before we stress about it too much!

15 weeks

We are making progress! The baby this week is about the size of a softball, something near and dear to my heart. We have enjoyed the relaxing that comes with the holidays. In fact, we are still enjoying it because we're currently in Beaumont at my parents. The baby continues to grow, and you can tell a difference in my belly now. I am paying very close attention because I'm dying to feel it move but no luck yet! We have our next ultrasound scheduled for January the 8th, and yes, that'll be "the big one" as long as Baby S cooperates and gives us a good show! For now, we're just resting. I've come down with the crud and finally started an antibiotic, so hopefully I'll be feeling better in time to ring in the New Year - one of my favorite holidays!

13 weeks

It is very hard to believe that we are at the end of our 1st trimester already! The time goes by so quickly, and so slowly all at once! We had a wonderful doctor's visit on Friday with my new OB. I really liked her and am going to really enjoy being able to go to appointments in Katy, rather than drive to the Medical Center. Andrew had to work and wasn't able to make it, but I was able to bring him back a couple of great pictures! We didn't think we'd be getting another ultrasound, but we were thrilled! Any chance we get to look at our baby, we will take! I was amazed at how much the baby had changed in just a week! Baby S was sitting upright, legs crossed, giving a nice profile shot! Its little left hand was up by its face and even open and closed (I took that as a wave)! I begged the u/s tech to look between the legs, and she laughingly humored me, but Baby S was sitting Indian style, so we couldn't even make a guess! The baby was still measuring long, moving our due date up a few days again to June 17th.

Keep voting on whether you think it's a boy or a girl! We go back in January and just might find out then! Here are the pictures! They're not near as clear because I had to scan them in rather than getting a digital copy like before.
