Our 37 week appointment was rather uneventful. I didn't expect much because I had only a few little contractions over the long Memorial Day weekend. What a difference being able to relax and be off your feet makes! We haven't changed in dilation or effacement, but he is positioned very low! We are set to be induced on Thursday, June 4th! We will go in at 5:30 that morning to get everything started, and we should have a baby later that day!

We had our appointment with the doctor on Thursday, and little Bishop had not made any progress from the week before. We are still 2cm and 50% effaced. Although, I know he must take his upcoming role in "delivery" seriously because he's been practicing with lots of contractions, that obviously weren't making any progress for us!
However, the doctor did give us some pretty exciting news! She said that if we haven't delivered in 2 weeks, she wants to induce. That means the latest our little guy will be entering this big world will be June 4th! This came as a huge relief to me! I am trying very hard to stay positive and not complain, but I am to the point where I am pretty miserable all the time with backaches, leg cramps, contractions, tummy tightness, etc. I will say that I have been very lucky to have been sleeping pretty well throughout this whole pregnancy however! The weekends are much nicer because I'm not working and can be off my feet and rest, so we're looking forward to the long one! As soon as I see Bishop's sweet little face, I know it'll all have been worth it.
And here is a 36 week belly shot (with my sidekicks of course)...
Sully has actually been very sweet. He is so attentive and any time I get a painful anything (heel-kick, contraction, etc) that causes me to say "ow", he runs over to me to make sure I'm okay. Sweet pup.

It was an exciting appointment today! I had been having contractions all day, and I was anxious to see if they were "doing" anything. The answer was yes. The doctor said I am 2cm dilated and 50% effaced. She said that we are far enough along now, to just keep doing what I've been doing. I go back next week to see where we stand, but she said she definitely doesn't think Bishop will make it 5 more weeks to our due date!
And these are belly shots, put up just for Shelley...

So I haven't been doing the best job keeping up with the blog, but we did get a fun update at our last doctor's appointment. They estimated Bishop's weight to be 5 lbs. Folks, that is bigger than the little white fluffy dog we all know and love! Little Bella weighs in at 4.4 lbs (on a fluffy day). That is a crazy comparison for me to think about! Everything on our last ultrasound looked good, and they said he has hair! What color do you think??? He is also already "in position" to be born (cooperating already)! Our doctor wants to start our weekly appointments a week earlier than normal, so we will go back next week (and every week after that until he's here)!
The nursery is coming together. I can't wait to get it all finalized and be able to share pictures!
Here are a couple of pictures from our appointment last Thursday!
34 weeks, facing upwards, lips sticking out
34 weeks, Bishop's foot
And Bella...

Yesterday was our baby shower in Beaumont given by some of my friends from growing up. They were so thoughtful to make all of my favorite breakfast foods that we used to eat, including Pam's famous brown sugar bacon! We had a great time and got some wonderful things. Our family and friends are so generous. We love you all!

On Thursday we had the opportunity to have a 3D ultrasound done! It was amazing to see our little guy and all his features! We got some pretty good shots. The u/s tech quickly told us how "fiesty" he was, which we've heard before, and then the umbilical cord got in front of his face in some of them, but they're still pretty good. I get to stop by next week after my appointment to see if we can get some more still pictures.
