Baby Snyder Update

We went last Thursday for our last check-up with the specialist, and everything looked good! The baby had grown significantly and was measuring long! We were able to hear the heartbeat again and see our little bean dance around quite a bit! It was amazing to see those tiny arms and legs moving so quickly! I can't wait to squeeze them! We go to our new doctor on the 12th and are excited to meet her! We don't know if we'll get another sonogram or not, but hopefully so! If we do, I am prepared to beg for any hints on whether the baby looks like a boy or a girl!

I am nearing the end of my first trimester already, and the time really seems to have gone by quickly. I am feeling pretty good most days now, which is a relief, and I have gotten some energy back as well.

Here are some pictures from our appointment below! The first one is where he was measuring the heart rate, but I like it because you can see little dots where the arms are!

Oh, and I added a poll to our blog! If you'll look over to the right, there is a place where you can vote on whether you think Baby Snyder is a boy or a girl!

disclaimer

I owe my parents a disclaimer on the video footage below. First of all, they were on the last 2 hours of an 11 hour road trip back from Lubbock and secondly, they didn't know we were taping. They weren't too thrilled with me posting a video to the blogging world, but we thought they're reaction was priceless! They'll forget all about it the closer we get to meeting their grandbaby!

a sweet visit

One of my favorite memories from 2008 will definitely be the weekend that Haley & Phoebe came visit! If you don't know who the famed "Haley & Phoebe" are, then let me tell you. Haley and I have been BFF since we were 5, so yes, that's a lot of years + a lot of memories. Phoebe is her beautiful daughter, who Andrew and I get the pleasure of being godparents to! So, they came for a night because we had a bridal shower for Lexie the next day, and no, we didn't do anything particularly special, and they only got to stay for one short night, but just having them here was enough for me! Phoebe changes so much between each visit I get with her, that it was pure joy to spend almost 24 hours with her!

best birthday gift ever.

Turning 27. It's an interesting age. One of those ages where you feel like you really should have your life in order by now, but at the same time, there's so much ahead. Our dreams and wishes, the desires of our hearts, sometimes have to adjust to reality; to the way the world works. I have loved my 27 years. There are so many sweet memories packed into all of them, that I tend to get a little nostalgic if I stop and look back for too long. But I have to say, I am eagerly looking forward to the next 27. The future can be a marvelous thing! We think about it constantly and are often in a state of shock when it actually "arrives." What do the next 27 years hold in store for me? Well, a lot of it is uncertain, but you should watch the video...

we.love.baseball.

Andrew and I decided last minute that we wanted to make it to one last Astros game before the 2008 season ended, so we bought tickets on StubHub for Sunday's game. It was Brad Ausmus' last game before he goes into retirement, so I was glad we went. :) We were thrilled because our tickets were in the Crawford Boxes, but we were not so thrilled when we got there and it was right underneath the scorching hot sun! So...we found some empty seats down behind 3rd base in the shade. We had a great time. It was really nice to just go relax and enjoy some of America's greatest game.

an ike vacation

Since July, Andrew and I have been looking forward to September 13th because my sweet sister-in-law Kristin and good friend Tiffany, gave us tickets to The Eagles concert in Dallas! So when Hurricane Ike decided to head straight toward Houston, we got a little anxious about being on the road with so many people. We evacuated during Hurricane Rita a few years ago and didn't want to have a repeat of hours and hours in the car. We headed out Thursday afternoon and had a pretty decent trip to the DFW area. While we were there, we were able to see lots of family and a few friends, who either live there or were evacuated themselves.

Here are some photo-highlights of part of our long weekend:
- Meeting Jamie & Nick's new baby girl, Elaine "Lainey" Campbell
- Dinner with Kristin, Tiffany, Camile & Ryan
- The Eagles concert with Kristin & Tiffany
- A visit with Aunt Jody who was in from Oklahoma

labor day

We got to spend Labor Day with our dear friends Rebecca & Travis McPherson. They made the long drive to Lake Brownwood from Amarillo for a much needed visit. The weekend was wonderful and relaxing. In fact, we were enjoying ourselves so much that we only took one picture! We love you Beck and Travis...and we still think you need to move closer so we can see you more often!
