Sharing Smiles

This little guy has a way of making your day...

I don't feel like the quality is all that great. I'm still new at this, so if anyone has any tips on what to export the video as, best way to upload it, etc that may help me, leave your thoughts!

Two Months Old

Wow! We cannot believe it's been 2 months already! Time starts going by a lot quicker when you have a baby I think. Bishop is really starting to be a lot of fun! He is really a happy baby, but when he doesn't like something, he lets you know! We've been dealing with some reflux for some time now, went through a growth spurt, and had a case of thrush all in the last few weeks. He is definitely filling out and growing. He was 11 lbs and 22 3/4 inches (both between 10-25 percentile) at our 2 month check-up. He has a small head apparently because 14 3/4 inches is below the 5th percentile. He also started his shots and took them like a champ! We're following a slightly different shot schedule than normal, so he only had to get one "stick" last time.

Here are some things Bishop does these days...

*loves to look at framed pictures on the walls, fans, and lights
*really becoming expressive by cooing and making lots of different faces - including the world's greatest grin
*sleeping through the night since 7 weeks
*getting better and better at tummy time
*rolling over from his tummy to his back
*LOVES to be outside
*enjoys bath time, which we now do without the newborn net in his tub, so his body gets to be totally under the water

July 7th - Happy 2 Years!

On Tuesday, Andrew and I celebrated our second anniversary! I am so lucky to have been able to enjoy him for so long! He is the best husband and a wonderful Dad! We were able to go out to dinner and a movie thanks to Mom coming and keeping Bishop for a few hours. Here are some pictures from our wedding day. We had such a great time at our wedding and reception that we often talk about how we wish we could do it all over again!

July 4th - Happy 1 Month Bishop!

We cannot believe our little buddy is 1 month old already! He is such a joy to us. Our check-up was successful. Bishop has gained weight, weighing in at 8 lbs 12 oz (25%) and 20 1/2 inches long (17%). We have been dealing with a little bit of reflux that we talked with the doctor about and are hoping we can manage it without having to get prescription medicine for him. He is starting to be more alert and aware of his surroundings and is now tracking objects for a short time.
I am a little behind on uploading all the pictures, so I will post the 3 & 4 week pictures later, but the one above was taken on the 4th!

Week Two with Bishop

We are almost 2 weeks late with this post, but oh well! We have been busy, busy over here! We have had lots of visitors and are so grateful for their help! During the first week home, my mom came and spent a few days with us. And during our second week home, Andrew's mom came and stayed with us. We also lots of drop-in visitors too, but the grandmas were in for the long-haul, and they were certainly helpful!

We had our 2 week doctor's appointment and Mr. Bishop weighed in at 6 lbs, 6 oz and 20 inches long. He only gained an ounce over the week, but he did grow 2 inches. His belly button has fallen off, and he has had his first bath! Also in his 2nd week of life, we made a very brave road trip to Beaumont to have his newborn portraits done. It wore Mom and Dad out, but we know the pictures will be worth it! Bishop also got to meet Gramma this week! He is a lucky boy with 3 great-grandparents, and we cherished this moment!

Week One with Bishop

It's hard to believe we've had our little guy now for over a week. We brought him home on Saturday, June 6, 2009. He is a really good baby. He doesn't hardly ever cry, and is still a good eater and he sleeps long stretches at night. One of the biggest questions we get is "How are the dogs reacting to him?" We are very proud of them, as they are doing very well! Sully is VERY protective of Bishop and becomes very curious of his noises. Bella is tolerating him just fine for now. We think she likes him, but is still choosing to keep her distance for now.
